RAM-TECH Engineers' personnel have extensive experience in providing professional investigative and design services for correctional facilities. Our personnel, in their professional careers, were the lead engineers in the design of prisons such as Mohawk Correctional Facility, Oneida Correctional Facility, Midstate Correctional Facility, Greene Correctional Facility, Coxsackie Correctional Facility and Eastern Correctional Facility.

Services include heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, plumbing, and fire protection systems, lighting and power systems, fire alarm, sound, security, standby generation systems, high/medium voltage systems and other special systems.

Projects that RAM-TECH Engineers has recently completed include the following:

State Correctional Institution, Camp Hill, PA

Provided plumbing design to replace all domestic cold and hot galvanized water piping from the main service throughout 4 cellblocks and the kitchen/dinning facility. Provided plumbing design to replace all sanitary piping from each fixture to the existing main lateral.

CLINTON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Dannemora, New York

Complete investigation of the Facility's primary power distribution and steam distribution systems. Provided twenty year Master Plan Analysis including upgrading Facility voltage, cogeneration potential utilizing high pressure steam to power steam turbine generator, with exhaust steam utilized in low pressure loop steam distribution upgrade to accommodate current and future maximum security Facility growth. Design of Phase One Improvements including power and steam distribution systems upgrade, and new fire protection and standpipe system.

Rehabilitate several cell blocks and renovate the primary distribution system, including new underground ductbank and right﷓of﷓way permit applications.

MOHAWK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Rome, New York

Complete design of underground power and communication system and the expansion of the electrical normal and emergency power distribution systems for entire campus of the Mohawk Correctional Facility, which is composed of approximately 20 buildings.

COXSACKIE C.F. MEDICAL FACILITY, Coxsackie, NY

Design and construction administration for a new state-of-the-art medical facility to house AIDS/TB patients.  A significant part of the facility included specialized pressurized isolation rooms to prevent transmission of air borne pathogens.  Project also included special systems such as Nurse Call, Fire Alarm, Medical Gases, Paging, Security including CCTV, etc.  The HVAC system included a complete redundant system with the ability to perform normal maintenance and filter changes without shut downs. Temperature and humidity control was a major factor due to the conditions of the patients.  The emergency power system included diesel engine generator with complete load transfer systems.  Fire protection system included a complete hydraulically calculated sprinkler and stand pipe systems with associated fire pump and accessories.

REGIONAL LONG TERM CARE HOSPITAL, Rome, New York

Renovation of Building #52 at Mohawk Correctional Facility to Long Term Care Facility. Unit included a 36 bed rehabilitation unit, outpatient clinic, 27 bed pre-post hospitalization unit, and support services. The project involved complete mechanical/electrical systems upgrade, including heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection systems, lighting, power emergency generator systems, nurse call, fire alarm, security and communications system.

CAPE VINCENT, OGDENSBURG & RIVERVIEW CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES

Design of Isolation Room Set-ups, exceeding CDC Guidelines, for T.B. patients.

ANNUAL WATER QUALITY SURVEY, ALL DCS FACILITIES

Water Quality Survey of all Department of Correctional Services Facilities in the State of New York fed from Municipal water source. This undertaking was completed in less than six weeks.

MT. McGREGOR CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Mechanical and electrical engineering services for a new kitchen building. The building is approximately 6000 sq. ft.

MIDSTATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Marcy, New York

Mechanical and Electrical design of Projects M0584 and M0629 including the design of New Visitor's Center and Service Garage as well as renovation to convert several existing buildings to secure housing units for inmates.

ONEIDA CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Rome, New York

Mechanical and Electrical design of Projects M0862, M0865 and M0863. Included the design of a new Recreation Building and the complete mechanical/electrical renovations of over 14 buildings on the Former Rome Developmental Center site to a State Medium Security Prison.

MOHAWK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Rome, New York

Electrical design of Buildings 54 and 56 (Project M0965). Included the complete design of power distribution systems, lighting and power systems, fire alarm and sound/intercom systems for an inmate and activities building.

EASTERN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Napanoch, New York

Design of new primary care health facility including mechanical and electrical systems. Project included systems design for fire protection, elevators, fuel systems and standby emergency generation.
