Complete design services for a new sixteen story, 450,000 s.f., Class A office
building located in downtown Albany, New York housing the Office of the State
Comptroller’s operations. The building included a basement loading dock, a
second floor full service kitchen and cafeteria and multiple third floor
mainframe type computer areas. A mechanical penthouse and basement water
service, electric service and telecommunications entrance rooms were included.
The HVAC systems included a variable air volume type for general areas,
redundant glycol computer room cooling system, a dedicated data and electric
room cooling system and smoke purge and stairwell pressurization systems. Full
primary and secondary voltage electric power distribution system, including
underfloor power and data outlet system and emergency power and diesel generator
systems, were utilized as were complete fire alarm, access control and CCTV
specialty systems. The plumbing systems included a wet-stack type arrangement
with multiple pressure zoned water distribution served by a pressure booster
pump station. The building was completely sprinklered with a wet pipe system
utilizing an electric driven fire pump, except in water sensitive areas where
dry pipe and gaseous agent fire suppression systems were utilized.
INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE - OFFICE RENOVATION– Northeast Philadelphia, PA
Renovation of 10,000 square foot of office space for the Service, Included new
power, data and communications systems; new heating ventilation and air
conditioning roof top units and electrical services to same; modifications and
additions to the fire alarm system. The new space consisted of open office
modular furniture.
The existing space was a raised floor computer room served by six Liebert units.
These units were removed. The existing 20 ton rooftop unit was replaced and the
existing ductwork was repaired and extended to serve the space. A new 2 1/2 ton
rooftop unit was installed to serve the converted tape storage space to offices.
The existing power distribution units were reused to supply the modular
furniture. A LAN distribution rack was installed to serve the space and a fiber
pair was connected to the existing fiber distribution patch panel.
INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE - FEDERAL BUILDING – Philadelphia, PA
Provided mechanical and electrical design for replacement and upgraded of two
air-handling units. Replaced and redistributed supply and return ductwork for
better air distribution and temperature control.
The IRS Service Center air handling system was taxed beyond its capacity by
various renovations. RAM-TECH designed a new 15 ton air handling unit, using
plant chilled water. The new unit was designed to fit within a small space in
the existing mechanical room and through existing double door way space. New
supply air return ductwork was installed before the old system ductwork was
removed and placed into service. Once in service, the ductwork for the existing
air handler was removed, leaving the air handler serving less space. All work
was preformed off off-hours as this department could not be closed or moved.
CITY
OF PHILADELPHIA PARKS & RECREATION, Philadelphia, PA
Provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing design services for the additions and
renovations of 4 recreation buildings.
BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS, Harrisburg, PA
Renovation of the 4th floor office space for the Bureau, including secure
storage, evidence room, LAN room, and offices. Included new power, data and
communications systems, water and sanitary services for fixtures; reuse and
relocation of lighting, fire alarm system, heating ventilation and air
conditioning diffusers.

RAM-TECH Engineer's personnel have many years of experience in providing
professional services for banking facilities. We were responsible for the
mechanical/electrical engineering design and have performed surveys and
evaluations for facilities such as the National Bank & Trust Company of Norwich.
Services include the analysis, evaluation and the design of heating, ventilating
and air conditioning systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems,
lighting and power systems, fire alarm systems, sound, security and other
special systems, etc.
The following is a brief narrative of several such project RAM-TECH Engineers
has been involved in:
NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF NORWICH
. Main Office Building, Norwich, NY
Renovation of 14,000 square foot, second floor "shell" space into office space.
HVAC work consisted of additional modular gas fired, hot water boilers to
supplement existing units, one additional air handling unit in mechanical
penthouse and replacement of existing reciprocating chiller with 200 ton
air-cooled unit. Plumbing systems were limited to provision of ADA compliant
toilet rooms. Electrical systems consisted of flexible, modular wiring and data
systems below raised floors, extension of existing power distribution systems,
fire alarm system and new indirect fluorescent lighting systems.
. Operation Center, Norwich, NY
Renovation of two-story office space. HVAC work consisted of replacing existing
individual AC-units with single air handling unit to serve both floors and
reduce size of mechanical rooms to create more office space. Chillers, condenser
pumps and condenser sump were replaced with new 20 ton chiller equipment.
Electrical work consisted of upgrades to the existing distribution system and
miscellaneous lighting and power systems. Plumbing work consisted of
miscellaneous toilet room modifications.
. Oneonta Branch
Offered technical mechanical/electric review of "fast-track" construction of
contractor design/build project for 4,500 square foot new branch bank building.
Reviewed proposed mechanical electrical systems, associated shop drawings and
code issues.
. Plattsburgh Branch
Official technical mechanical/electrical review of "fast-track" construction of
two contractor design/build renovation projects; one at the Route 3 site and the
other at Margaret Street. Reviewed proposed mechanical/electrical systems,
associated shop drawings and code issues.
FULTON SAVINGS BANK
. Fulton Branch
Complete mechanical/electrical design and construction administration of new
branch office in Fulton. Building is a one story slab on grade constructed on an
existing vacant site. All services, including: electric, gas, water, sewer,
sanitary and fire protection were provided to the building.
. Constantia Branch
Complete mechanical/electrical design and construction of branch office in
Constantia. Project was located in an existing mini-mall. The space was
previously occupied with a retail tenant and complete renovation was required.
CICERO BANK
. Preparation of Site Reconnaissance and Phase 1 Reports, typically including
the following activities: Agriculture District Search, County Soils Survey
Search, Flood Plains Search, Significant Habitats and Endangered Species Search,
Cultural Resources Search, Inactive Hazardous Waste Site Search, Wetlands Search
and Visual Site Spot Observation.
